Emma & Tim’s Worton Hall wedding was held back in August, just after that incredibly long heatwave. The day the weather changed. I think actually that everybody was secretly relieved. Sunny days are good but overcast and rainy weather never spoils a wedding day! Luckily the rain held off for guests to enjoy drinks and canapes in the lovely orchard setting, just as Emma & Tim wished. The seated wedding breakfast was then held inside the large, light and airy Worton Hall wedding venue. Plenty of room for the 100+ guests to celebrate in style. And celebrate in style they did.
I am pleased to have been wedding photographer for this family for the second time. I photographed Emma’s sister marry Mark last year and it was great to see so many familiar faces. The wedding dress was familiar too. Emma loves Jo’s choice so much she asked to wear it. Again working alongside Cat from Make Up For Brides it really did feel like ‘deja vu’ at times! On this occasion my day started with Emma at the couple’s home before heading to Yarnton church where Tim nervously awaited her arrival.
Every church wedding I photograph is so different. Although a large wedding party, this church itself is small and so the ceremony felt really intimate. Humorous too – the vicar certainly knows how to engage the congregation, combining fun with formality. That set the tone for the day. A traditional wedding in many ways but so very relaxed. And beautifully styled with modern blush colours to compliment ‘that’ dress. See for yourself…
Wedding Venue Worton Hall is a short distance from Oxford and Woodstock. Within the Worton Park estate, the barn style interior is fresh and contemporary. It is one of the largest venues I have come across with the double height ceiling and mezzanine making the space seem endless.
Outside there is an orchard, lake and woodland glade to enjoy. Weather permitting, these make a fabulous setting for drinks receptions. There is further space immediately outside the barn and with so much indoor space you can keep your drink reception and wedding breakfast separate even if everything is hosted inside.
I really enjoyed working here. Take a look if you are looking for a wedding venue near Oxford. It could be ‘the one’ x
