Leah & Karl’s winter wedding at Dodford Manor was an absolute pleasure to photograph. I received the warmest of welcomes into their world for the day which was relaxed, fun and full of smiles. Here is a glimpse into their wedding day.
They told me that Dodford Manor was the only venue they viewed, knowing instantly that it was the perfect place for their wedding. As well as the fabulous ceremony and reception barns I think Leah was very drawn to the Grain Store Bridal Room for her morning preparations. It perfectly blends country chic with a hint of stage dressing room style – very apt for Leah with her theatrical background. It is where I started my day with Leah, her Mum and her hairdresser Gemma …
The ceremony in Mortain Barn maintained the same relaxed vibe as the rest of the day with everyone particularly delighting at the couples long and lingering first kiss!
Karl had told me before the wedding that he was a stickler for smartness and asked that I watch for any ‘scruffs’ when taking group photos. It did amuse me to catch him fastening his new little brother in law’s tie!
Leah & Karl were keen for some couple imagery immediately after the ceremony. It was lovely to capture them enjoying a few quiet moments together before continuing with some group shots, also outdoors. It was bitterly cold so we worked quickly with everyone fully entering into the spirit of being photographed.
Back inside for drinks, afternoon tea, speeches and dancing …
A little bird told me that sadly Leah & Karl missed out on her Mum’s beautiful homemade wedding cake as their guests ‘wolfed it all’ while they were dancing! Well, maybe they were a little engrossed in each other at the time …
Here’s to the happy couple!
